If you are even remotely thinking Ritz Carlton Hotel, slap yourself 10 times now.

This ain't no Ritz Carlton.

Just the Ritz..... a supposed 3-star hotel... The Chinese stars perhaps? You know.... the kind that never appears what it seems, in a bad way of course. The room is a shit-hole. The cupboards look like it had not been changed since the 1970s, the bathroom - if one can even call it a bathroon - is a puny run-down cubicle and the furnishings look like some cheap pick-up from a charity store. We were guttered when we entered the room. So out came the phone and it was claws-time with the travel agent. We were only staying for one night (thank goodness) and I insisted that he had to relocate us on our next return to Cape Town. But I had a sneaky suspicion it was not going to happen. It was Easter week. Most unlikely to get another accomodation in such notice.

Room service? Don't even THINK about it. I had to PERSONALLY go to the 2nd floor bar and collect the ice bucket together with 5 wine glasses! I became my own room service. Ridiculous.

Ritz Hotel's ONLY saving grace is the revolving restaurant on the top floor and its nice bar. Yup. That's it. So here's a piece of advise....

NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER STAY AT THE RITZ HOTEL!!!!!
