So I MIA-ed for the longest time....
As usual, time slips through my fingers and before one knows, 2 months and 10 days have passed, reality has hit home and memory of the time elapsed has become nothing more than a memory. A memory so dream-like, it almost seems like it never happened. Only digital memories of the events as a reminder of the days gone by....
And it all started with ...
It all started with a casual invitation extended to my auntie for a golfing tour at notorious RS of A. The cheap thought of having my daddy's friend here as well, further sparkled the interest of my auntie. And after all, SA boasts of many awesome golf courses.... that is when people actually realize that this country is beyond lions, rhinos and elephants. And before I knew it, I was busy planning itineraries for my auntie and her 3 friends. Great. Not like this is my favourite auntie to start with. She is renowned for being calculative, selfish, and manipulative and a whole lot of other unfavourable characteristics. One thing, I was not expecting her to ACTUALLY come here.
Planning the golfers’ trip was the biggest learning experience I received! To start with, I am a LEARNING golfer. I had not even stepped out on a course! Like how would I know which are the better courses? Must be kidding me.... ! Back-to-back whilst planning my own business trip, I had to read up and plan their golfing itinerary. Stressful, no doubt! I was planning a golfing itinerary for 3 other people that I don't know, lest seen them! And they are GOOD FRIENDS with my aunt, my natural instincts immediately suspected parallel characters. After all, there IS a cliché saying - Birds of a feather flock together. Someone shoot me. What did I get myself into?
In my auntie's convenient fashion, she "delegated" the task of trip-planning to a friend of hers, others know as M.E. (yes, the same E from Choo-E), to correspond with me. Wise decision I have to say. ME was the greatest help ever! And through emails, I had a hunch that I will get along with her fine. And from the way decisions were made, I started to get a good feeling about it. Maybe it wouldn't be that bad after all....
So after 2 weeks of reading up, emailing, bookings and arranging with the Cape Town tour agent, everything was finalised.... just in time before my flight for my own trip. Fabulous!!
