Last Night in Cape Town

'Twas the last night in Cape Town.

We bade our farewells to Chew. He was a good tour guide. He was the sonic-boom guide. He met AA's expectations. He was definitely a good guide.

We decided to celebrate this unforgettable holiday with a big bang at the top-floor revolving restaurant. Well, perhaps just a good excuse for AA to dress up and slap some goo called make-up on her face. But no denying, it was the perfect way to end a perfect holiday.

It was a happy-sad occasion for me though. This pretty much marks the end of the golfers stay in SA. This Cape Town tour was the major event of their South Africa golf holiday, and now that it is coming to an end, it was almost time for me to bid farewell to them. And that was a darn depressing thought. They are such great people to have around, and certainly far from my initial expectation of them. What can I say? It was really an extraordinary time spent with all of them and of course, the quality of the holiday.... words just ain't enough to express.

Here's a cheers to these special golfers; a rightful cheers to AA for paying for this holiday and most of all, for introducing me to her wonderful friends!

And with this... it is time for din-din.... and yah... MORE DRINKS!

At the corridor, on the way to the restaurant :

Bad shot... but couldn't resist posting this one up. Jo-Jo cracking herself up silly over her 'country-bumpkin' footwear. Poor Jo-Jo had sprained her ankle at Cape Point.

At the Restaurant....

AA looking at Jo-Jo with an uncanny affection.... yikes! Did she have a drink too many already???

Any excuse for AA for a dress-up

TWG - The Sleepy Drunk

Enjoying your food, ME?

The food at the restaurant was yummy. I wouldn't recommend anyone to STAY at Ritz Hotel but a definite MUST-TRY at this restaurant. As it is located on the 22nd floor (I think... maybe 21st or 23rd.. whatever) and is a revolving restaurant, it captures a grand view of Cape Town. Candlelights and background live piano music... great food with gorgeous scenery, what more can one ask for? I can't remember where I've chucked the name card so no, I don't know the name of the restaurant. The restaurant requires pre-booking reservations as it only caters for 20 tables. So yeah, best bet probably is call Ritz Hotel and ask to be transferred to the restaurant. Anyhow, this has definite thumbs-up from the travellers and myself!

One little story I have yet to tell, is AA's rather annoying habit of 'share-share'. She would order her usual - salad for starter, whatever main course that deemed her fancy and in a whiff of hope that we would all agree to dessert as well. Then during the course of the meal, it would be her tag-phrase, "I eat very fast. I've eaten a lot already. You guys finish.". OK... she does eat fast, no denying. But a lot? Right... whatever you say. Then it was food pushing. Initially, it was bearable, but came to a point that I was ready to scream! Like... Stop it!!!! If you can't finish it, don't finish it! I know I attempted to state that fact a couple of times, but no..... food pushing was like a national hobby.

So obviously during the course of the dinner, food pushing started all over again. Thank goodness it was beef this time. I am allergic to beef. My bloody saviour! I have never been as grateful to my damn allergy as I was then. And then it was AA going on and on and on about how wonderful the beef is and how great it will be to have crusty bread with it. Oh whatever! Give the poor beef a break!

Post-dinner - AA, ME and myself went to the bar for a couple of drinks. Jo and TWG retired back to their room. AA had one drink and I think the alcohol had hit her, she excused herself back to the room. So it was just ME and myself having a nice long chat. Very nice.

And that was that.... last night in Cape Town.
