Before LP80's turn to run our 1-km leg to commemorate 10-years of torch passing from one LP to the next, two geniuses named Keith and Chan Meng decided to bring smiles to people's live by offering High-Fives, slapped right at the busiest part of Orchard Road!
Kudos to Keith for his fantastic idea and to Chan Meng for putting all of this together.
Oh what fun it was to FIVE.....
What an experience!
The best part of this was....
Watching the people breaking out in smiles.
A simple yet humbling experience.
This is a good reminder for the cause of what we went through together....
Did I mention it will be Doe-a-deer next?
"Sally wants.... Darien wants...."
We started at Wheelock Place.... and ended up at Orchard MRT Station.
Target no. of High-5 to give = 800
Actual no. of High-5 given = 1,350
Overheard:
#1: "What does Sally want?"
#2: "so that this stage 1, this is stage 2, that's stage 3.... so do we get a prize after that?"
#3:
A lady sees this sign "to give u..." and started reacting excitedly, "Give what? give what?"
Me: "High-5 la!"
#4:
Another lady finishes reading the last sign and asks, "Give high-5 for what?"
Me: "For fun!"
Lady: "Oh... for friend ahhh.... "
And she goes down the escalator....
#5:
"How much do u think these guys with the signs are paid?"
"I think about $5 an hour"
"Yah.. I think so too"
#6: "Eh.. ehh.. who is sally huh? Is she some celebrity?"
