Woes of the Frequent Traveller (Part 1) - Travel Planning

I always have excuses for blog-procrastination.
Hot, very hot, still very hot.... sleep.

I do try ya know. I build mental words of what I am going to write and then I sit in front of the computer, damn it! The weather's too darn hot! Never mind it is below 20 degrees during the night. Chooey's philosophy : Just as long as it ain't minus, it ain't cold.

Maybe later..... when the temperature cools down.....
Later comes.
It is some wee hours of the morning.
I have succumbed to my bed.
Never mind...
Maybe later... again.

Mean And then... later-again occurs one week later.... in the midst of trip-planning.
Airlines, flights, hotels, transport, flights, flights, hotels, hotels.....
Dates, times, where to shop, how to get there, back to airlines, flights and hotels again....

It is a vicious cycle!
Travel, come back, clean the house up, catch up with work, meetings, errands and before I know it, it is time to plan for the next trip.

And then, my desk calender becomes the flavour of the week. I start getting confused with dates - especially when the dates on Feb and Mar falls on the same days. So as I think I'm looking as Feb, I'm actually looking at March. So there I am on the airlines/hotels website trying to check for availability -

OK... I want 24rd of Feb (scrolls down dates and select) and checking out/returning on.... 29th of Feb (scrolls down dates and select again).
Cool.
Enter.
Error message - Invalid Date Selected.
What? Invalid date? But my calender......
*stares at calender*
Oh... I'm in March. Embarrassed
What the....?
Flips Calender back to February.
*sigh* Mouth At Side
Start again.

OR....

Check-in/Departure Date... hmmm.... I want... selects 28th, selects Feb.
Check-out/Return Date... and this I want.... selects 3rd.
Enter.
Error Message : Invalid date selection. Check-out/Return Date has to be after Check-in/Departure Date.
*stares at screen*
Shit. I forgot to select MARCH on the out date.
*curse and swear*
Start AGAIN.

This didn't happen once.
Just a few times.
So few times that I lost count.
So few times that I wanted to admit myself into a psychiatric hospital.

Right now, sits sets of paper on my table, sub-divided to different categories.
Stack 1 - My travel documents - Flight Itinerary, Hotels and 'Shopping Districts' information.
Stack 2 - My auntie's travel documents - Cape Town Itinerary, Flight Itinerary, Durban Itinerary and Johannesburg Itinerary. Oh... and I forgot to mention... my auntie is coming to SA for a golf tour. Guess who's planning?

I have become a TA (Travel Agent).
Looks like I need to amend that CV of mine.
