Yay!
I am FINALLY the proud owner of my FIRST golf set!!!!
Boy oh boy... I am so excited.
Finally .... finally .... finally ...!!
Just a mere 8 months late.
21 April 2005 : Golf-Club Shopping
Buying clothes and jeans, my cuppa.
Buying golf club? What?
Graphite Shaft? What the heck is that?
Irons? That thing we use to press the clothes? OK. I'm not as daft as that.
Bottomline line is, I'm a novice at golf. I barely understand the fundamentals! Shopping for golf clubs is like me shopping for cosmetics... I can see them cruelly mocking at me! Stop it! Stop it!
I heaved a heavy sigh as I parked my car and stared at this intimidatingly huge golf shop located at Woodsmead. Mental pep talk : "I can do this... I can do this..."
Entered the store and what a glorious sight of golf equipments. The shop was fairly crowded and everyone looks As I approached one of the guys behind the counter, I broke out in a spastic laughter with a face like the ass of a baboon and gushed out,"Can you help me? I'm looking for a golf set and this is my first time...."
He directed me to this other guy called Gary Brown. Gary welcomed me with a warm and friendly smile, which helped ease my nerves tremendously. Chirpily, he led me to the lady's golf club section and patiently explained the difference in each of them.
Dilemma.
It only made that much sense to me.
Huh?
And huh?
And huh huh?
Ok.
Everything pretty much made cow-sense to me.
I looked at my watch.
Damn! I'm running late for my lunch appointment.
Tiger Shark... hmm... I'm a sucker for the colour of those shafts and the golf bag doesn't look bad either. Bimbo-shopping at its best. He DID say that those are good clubs as well... but erm... should I trust him? So I asked him if I could exchange these in the next 3 days if I am being told otherwise. He confidently promised 30-days. Great! Tiger Shark it shall be!
I nervously presented my new golf set to my instructor today. I needed affirmation that it was the right choice. And he was happy with the choice. He said it is the perfect set for me. Yay! I'm happy.
And that was that!
My FIRST ever golf set!
Sitting at the corner of my home, with Choo-E (the parrot) smiling happily at me.

CHOO-E! My mascot
CHOO-E :
Choo - That's me.
E - A dear friend who gave me this beloved parrot. Someone who has been encouraging me in golf. Sweet lady.
Choo + E = Choo-E = My motivation to master this too-darn-technical game of golf.
