But I decided to "conquer my fears" and bravely tried my hands AGAIN at knitting.
And poor Vinnie.
Ever 15 minutes or so, I would be screeching, ""Vvvvvvv-neeeeeee... HELP! I think I dropped (or added) stitches AGAIN!!!!"
And there was Vinnie to the rescue.
"OK Miss Choochie.... this is what we will do...."
Then he would sit there patiently, showing me how I should add or drop stitches whenever I screwed up. I was amazed by his patience. I was close to strangling myself. I am the official hopeless knitter! I could not even manage.... knitting video tape!
For those who knows me should be aware I have compulsive tendencies. So what started out as "okay... I will LEARN how to knit", ended up an obsession. I would sit on that sofa at any given moment and knit. I was determined to help Vinnie finish as much as my tiny hands could do. I mean, by the time he got back to the UK, he only had 5 days to finish assembling the coat together, prepare his presentation board, do the illustrations and put his sketch book together. Please... I had been there before.... I KNEW how much more work was required for one stupid project and he would have to endure late nights just to wrap up this project. And nooo.... the Queen ambitiously decided on nine long knitted panels (I think 90 cm x 42 cm - not sure - per panel) and a pair of full length sleeves. That's ALOT of knitting.
I have to admit. It was a therapeutic obsession for me as well, especially since Naidoo started to get on my nerves tenfolds. The hostility between Naidoo and myself was so to the face that I felt bad for the visitor. It was suppose to be a happy reunion. He was not suppose to witness such hostility between two friends-gone-wrong. Once again, sorry about that Vinnie.
The knitting obsession returned with me to Johannesburg. I decided to try my hands at knitting a scarf. A scarf that didn't make sense. My primary objective was to experiment on my own and see what knit variations I could achieve based on the 'basic-training' from knitting video tapes. I must say I had fun with this little project but obvious fact - I SUCK AT KNITTING! Period.
And whatever this is suppose to be!
